Collection: Simply Beans
Our Director of Simply Beans and Roast Master Giuseppe Anapo has been around coffee since birth.
Giuseppe’s (Joe) earliest memories are of waking up as the coffee aroma permeated throughout his family’s home from the stop top espresso, then eagerly waiting to share an espresso with his father to start the day.
Our mission is to deliver excellence and create unique experiences in all we do.
Our vision is to create a brand that is a house hold name and that everyone can trust and rely on!
As a boutique brand for discerning coffee drinkers, we want to provide great tasting coffee to homes nationwide and help coffee businesses all across Australia to grow and develop.
Our coffee
Selecting only the best estate grown coffee...
Selection
In the beginning, it all started with tasting the best coffees the world had to offer in a quest to find the coffees that spoke to Joe. He wanted to find the perfect coffees he could use as his foundation to build on to ultimately create the blends you know and love today.
Creating
Joe found his inspiration in coffee from PNG, India and Indonesia. Not only did these coffees form the foundations of Simply Beans famous blends, these coffees have a great source of stability and therefore ensure we create consistent flavour profiles.
We showcase coffees from the best growing regions around the world through our blends and extensive range of single origins. At Simply beans we have a coffee for every type of coffee drinker!
Roast & pack
We roast all of our coffee fresh, we do not stockpile coffee as we believe fresh is the best! Our coffee roasting processes are regulated to ensure optimum profiles for each coffee. The roast profiles are made up of the following variables - Aroma, Time, Temperature, Airflow, Sound and Colour. The roasting team maintain quality by recording and monitoring data that is collected during every batch of coffee roasted as well by testing and maintaining cupping specifications.
Once the coffee is roasted it is packed and batch numbers are recorded. All our coffee bags have one way valves to ensure a stable release of the CO2 gasses whilst maintaining freshness.
Extracting
Samples from each coffee roasted daily are put aside for tasting evaluation on roast quality, ageing parameters and packaging analysis. We manage the extraction against strict parameters to create the ideal extraction, remembering that taste is king! Each blend is sampled and cupped daily/weekly, this enables us to make changes to recipes if one component of the blend is not performing within parameters. Along with taste, colour analysis of the whole and ground bean plays an important role is maintaining a consistent component. We record all extraction notes in our extraction log which is completed three times a day on all our coffee pumping.
Love
We manage the coffee quality and consistency through batch testing and customer feedback. Despite roasting fresh, once the coffee is roasted it is important to "rest" or "age" your beans so that coffee flavour compounds can be properly extracted (for a minimum of 42 hours). Generally the *ideal time to enjoy your brew is anywhere from 4-10 days. We offer coffee making workshops and are always available to help you get the best brew from your beans!
So! All that is left to do is... Enjoy!
